Goram Homes, Bristol City Council’s housing company, has reached another major milestone with the completion of Dundry View at Hengrove Park. The development is the company’s first completed residential development and is providing 100% affordable housing for Bristol.
A detailed planning application for 70 affordable extra care homes for older people has been submitted for Phase Two of The Fosseway development in Hengrove, south Bristol. The application for the 100% affordable housing development is being made by Anchor, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for people in later life.
Goram Homes, Bristol City Council’s housing company, and Vistry have signed a deal to deliver the landmark Hengrove Park development in South Bristol. The agreement secures delivery of a new neighbourhood of 1,435 homes, around half of which will be affordable housing.
Karin Smyth, the Labour MP for Bristol South, has visited The Fosseway in Hengrove to see the progress being made to create a neighbourhood of 200 homes, of which 135 will be much-needed affordable housing. Built on the site of a former school, The Fosseway is being delivered in two phases by Goram Homes, Bristol City Council’s housing company.
Bristol City Council has approved Goram Homes’ Business Plan for 2026/27, paving the way for the council-owned housing company to scale up the delivery of new homes across the city.
The Business Plan outlines how the company will build more than 1,000 new homes by 2030/31, including around 580 affordable homes, to help tackle the city’s ongoing housing shortage.
Goram Homes has marked the latest milestone in its programme to bring forward much-needed homes for Bristol with the opening of a new show home and sales centre at The Brooklands.
