Hengrove Park

Project timeline

Hengrove Park is a landmark development for south Bristol, and a large-scale project which has been years in the making. We’re bringing each phase forward in stages. Phase 1B has reserved matters planning consent, and will start construction in Summer 2025.

Outline planning consent granted to Bristol City Council

2020

  • Bristol City Council achieved outline planning consent for the ‘masterplan’, which includes 1,345 new homes and a range of sport and community facilities.

Site transferred to Goram Homes

2021

  • Bristol City Council transferred the project to Goram Homes, to take forward the detailed planning process and find a house builder partner.

Work starts on first ‘Hengrove Bookends’ building

October 2022

  • This first phase of Hengrove Park will create 53 new council homes for social rent and shared ownership, as well as five commercial units. It is due to complete in Summer / Autumn 2025.

Reserved matters planning consultation on Phase 1B

February 2023

  • Detailed planning consent has now been granted for Phase 1B, the first 209 homes in the wider Hengrove Park masterplan, the energy centre, and first stage of the enhanced park.

  • Detailed planning consent has now been granted for Phase 1B, the first 209 homes in the wider Hengrove Park masterplan, the energy centre, and first stage of the enhanced park.

Consultation on phase two

Spring / summer 2025

  • We aim to start working with the community on the next stage of the development in Spring / Summer 2025, before taking forward a reserved matters planning application.

Construction to start on Phase 1B

Summer 2025

  • Phase 1B is the first 209 homes to the east of the St Giles estate and west of the community hospital, as well as the energy centre and first stage of the park.
  • We will keep local people and neighbouring businesses informed once we have start dates confirmed
