Our Annual Report 2022-23
We published our Annual Report today (24th August), showcasing Goram Homes’ key achievements in the financial year 2022-23. These include:
- completing the award-winning Castle Park Energy Centre
- starting construction on new council homes in Hengrove
- creating the One Lockleaze Skills Academy
- and securing planning permission for hundreds more homes in north and south Bristol.
We’re also reporting better than planned figures, against a challenging economic backdrop.
The report highlights our high environmental and social standards too, including committing to RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge targets as a route to building net zero homes.
Alongside construction and planning progress, community investments include 281 hours of career mentoring and more than 450 weeks of skills and employment training.
Stephen Baker, Managing Director of Goram Homes said:
“We’ve made significant progress this financial year and will soon be welcoming our first residents to our One Lockleaze development. We also secured planning permission for hundreds more homes across Bristol and begun work at Hengrove Park, the largest development in Bristol this century.
“I’m pleased to report our finances are better than forecast in our business plan, a result of taking a prudent approach in a difficult economic market. Ours is a long-term business, creating new communities with the high levels of affordable housing so desperately needed in the city, and we look forward to building more than 3,000 new homes over the next decade.”
Cllr Tom Renhard, Cabinet Member for Housing and Delivery said:
“Over the last year, Goram Homes has continued to demonstrate development at its best. They are starting to deliver the first of 3,100 much-needed, high quality, energy efficient new homes, which will include new council homes for those on our housing waiting list. The schemes are also providing new facilities, jobs, and training opportunities that will benefit our city.
“Demand for housing in Bristol is still rising, as we continue to tackle the housing crisis. We are committed to getting Bristol building 1,000 new truly affordable homes a year. Since 2016, over 12,500 new homes have been built in Bristol including 2,563 new homes in the year to April 2022, exceeding the Mayor’s ambitious manifesto target. Almost 500 affordable homes were built in that year, the most in more than a decade.”
